Lightning is a sub-technique of Firebending, similar to Bloodbending to Waterbending. A firebender that can bend lightning is extremely powerful and dangerous. Few have been shown to master this ability, it is to be used with extreme caution.
Players: How to use[]
To use Lightning, you must first bind it to a slot in your inventory. To do this, you can use the command:
/bending bind Lightning
Once the ability is bound you have to charge the lightning. You can hold sneak (Default:Shift) to charge. By default, charge time is 3.5 seconds, however the server admin may have tweaked it. Once the lightning is charged, let go of sneak and a bolt of lightning will strike at the targeted location.
For the in-game help, use the command:
/bending help Lightning
Admins: Permissions[]
By default, Lightning is available to all Firebenders. In a more advanced permission setup, you can take the ability away by negating the permission node:
bending.fire.Lightning
The method in which you negate a permission node varies depending on the permissions plugin you use. Please consult the permissions plugin that you are using for more information on how to do this.
Additionally, if you wish to use a permission node that effects all firebending, use the node:
bending.fire.*
Admins: Configuration[]
In the config.yml file, you can configure the Range, Warmup-Time, and the possibility of Lightning missing. To do so, use this in the config file:

Lightning:
Warmup: 3500
Range: 15
Miss-Chance: 10
Spacing is very important in yml files, make sure things are exactly like above to ensure that you don't get any errors. Always use spaces instead of tabs.
